My name is Dean Stevens.  I've been in the technology business since I first got paid to write computer programs in 1981.  Since then I've written lots of software, been involved in semiconductor design & development and even managed a couple of things.  I'm currently working on a number of projects through my consulting company - The Spinnaker Advisory Group.

A few years ago I recognized that China was the "Next Big Thing" and started trying to figure out how I could be part of the excitement.  At the time it seemed like getting involved in outsourcing to China was the ticket, so here I am.  I've been actively working on developing China's outsourcing business for more than five years.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I either have, or may have in the future, business dealings with many of the companies mentioned in this blog.  I'll do my best to avoid any conflicts, but I want to write about what I know.  Let's face it, you wouldn't be reading this if I didn't know a little bit about the subject.  We can safely say that this is an insider's view.
